Behavior Modification Training for better behavior and stronger bonds between dogs and their people
Positive Behavior Modification Training for dog owners in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the surrounding area
Is your dog’s behavior making it difficult to enjoy everyday life with your companion?
Living with a dog struggling with reactivity, fear, separation anxiety, or aggression can be an isolating and frustrating feeling for anyone (your dog included).
Many behaviors that humans regard as undesirable, are functional or “normal” when viewed from the dog’s perspective. The “misbehaviors” do not arise from a dog’s desire to be obstinate, annoying, or “get back at” their owners.
We will develop a tailored behavior modification plan to guide you and your dog toward meaningful improvements in everyday life.
What Types of Behaviors Do We Work On?
Each dog is different and each pet parent has different goals. We’ll work with you to create a custom plan for your dog that can include working on behaviors such as:
- Leaping, Lunging, or Growling at People or Other Animals
- Resource Guarding – Objects, People, or Property
- Aggression
- Fear of strangers
- Separation Anxiety
- and much more
We also offer specialized sessions for Bite Prevention for dogs that have a bite history or are presenting behaviors that may lead to biting.
How does training Work?
1. Contact us for a free 15-minute call! We’ll want to know about your dog, situation and your goals for training.
2. We train your dog at your home, our home, or out on the town depending on your training goals and individual dog.
3. You’ll enjoy a well trained dog as well as employing your own new skills.
To make sure we get the result you’re intending to achieve, we require our clients to commit to a minimum number of sessions to give your dog the best possible outcome they can achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions
What guarantees do you offer?
Much like humans, it’s impossible to know how quickly one individual dog will make progress in training. While we can’t ethically make guarantees for training outcomes, we can guarantee you’ll have a dedicated partner in getting to the root of your dog’s issues.
What can I expect after training?
After training, our clients have a deep understanding of their dog’s behavior, the ways in which to manage behavior, as well as resources for ensuring their dog continues to progress.
While progress varies from dog to dog, our canine clients do receive the space to make changes in their behavior with proper support from their humans.
Is my dog’s behavior normal?
The majority of dog behaviors, although they may seem puzzling or annoying, are present because (from the dog’s perspective) they serve a function or achieve a desirable consequence. Some have underlying medical causes. We’ll work with you to get to the bottom of your pup’s troubling behavior and find a solution that works for both you and your dog.
What is behavior modification?
Behavior modification is the process of systematically changing your dog’s behavior. Taking into account environmental, health, and previous training factors, a skilled dog trainer will help dog owners implement various aspects of a behavior modification plan. Aspects of behavior modification include both management and training.
